Missouri educators - summer online PD scholarships

The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Division of Special Education will provide scholarships for four selected e-Learning for Educators: Missouri courses (for Missouri educators only). The courses are appropriate for elementary/middle school educators in general and special education classrooms on a first-come, first-served basis. Enrollment is limited; first-come, first-served.

How e-Learning for Educators courses can be used for required professional development hours

In 2003, statutory changes were made that require educators to complete ongoing professional development until the educator reaches two of three items: ten years of experience, the next higher degree, or national certification from a Missouri-recognized board. The professional development may include contact hours of district-approved professional improvement activities or appropriate college course work (one college credit = 15 contact hours).

e-Learning for Educators seeks teachers to participate in research study

e-Learning for Educators: Missouri is looking for teachers to participate in a research study designed to evaluate the effect of online professional development on teacher knowledge, teacher practice and student achievement.

Participating teachers will received feedback from student tests, a $300 stipend on completion of all study requirements and other benefits.
